Judo is not only considered the safest contact (sporting) activity for juveniles but is also the 2nd most popular sport on the planet, after soccer, for people of all ages. Judo is very social and a lot of FUN.
At the Vancouver Island Judo Academy (VIJA) we are focused on helping to build 'fine people'.
Judo is a lifelong way of training and living, promoting health on a number of levels.
Many of our younger students will become our community's future leaders.

What are the benefits of sponsorship?
Aside from any public/employee perception, in a very practical sense, we know that as a whole body and mind activity Judo brings a health consciousness to all participants. To that purpose, we offer all sponsor's employees (and families) a 20% tuition discount at the VIJA. We believe that through studying Judo your staff will become more healthy and productive contributors to your business. Your Extended Healthcare and Disability insurance claims will reflect that better state of mind and body.
A recent article on employee health (August 29, 2007) states that companies (driven by ever-rising healthcare costs) "... see a connection between the bottom line and the employees waistlines"... "they are looking at their employee in a more holistic way and realizing that the success of the employee at work is related to a number of factors, [including] work/life balance, health and connection to community".
Sponsoring Judo will be a win-win situation. We need to grow our school and cover ever-increasing expenses including regional and national tournament travel costs and your desire is to maximize employee output while minimizing downtime and health-related insurance claims.
Visibility... we will promote your corporate name and logo on our (new and improving, professional) website, on our club van (our rolling billboard) and in our media/public advertising and rackcards.
As well, you can proudly say that by sponsoring Judo you are part of the solution to what our government and public are increasingly aware of; our lethargic lifestyles are costing us healthy manpower and filling our hospitals at alarming rates. Poor health is society's highest expense. Help us build 'fine people'. Help us promote balanced and healthy living to our students (ages 7-77) and to our local area schools and the public at large.
A full sponsorship is only $1,000/year (cash or in-kind) and the benefits will be many times that amount. We are restricting the number of official corporate supporters to 15. This will help meet our requirements and allow us to give reasonable space and consideration to each sponsor.
